1875 the King Albert of Saxony granted the first patent on the fabrication of crucibles, which was the foundation of the company, MAMMUT-WETRO Schmelztiegelwerk GmbH, and is developing itself to a global leading producer and supplier of crucibles.

The combination of material development, production, quality assurance and assessment of application ensure the manufacture of crucibles at the highest level.

The change to resin bond and the introduction of the isostatic pressing method were important milestones in the development of our company. These significant steps together with a special firing process establish the basis for the high-value characteristics of our products. The manufacture of our products is certified according ISO 9001 : 2008.

The result of our continuous research and development work is the material SiCarbon.
